With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s only fitting to share books that honor and celebrate mothers.
I can recall my first Mother’s Day; all the gifts, brunch at a fancy restaurant, and dressed in my best attire. I was celebrated amongst other seasoned mothers and women within my family. It was an honor, everything I hoped for my first Mother’s Day. The day was full…and beautiful.
Fast forward, to present years, I would call myself a seasoned mother, but Mother’s Day looks very different for me. I don’t want elaborate gifts, brunch at a fancy restaurant, dawned in my finest attire. All want this Mother’s Day is to be in the comfort of my home, surrounded by beautiful brown faces, filling our bellies with delicious food we made together, and reading sweet stories honoring the diversity of motherhood.
Here are 5 beautiful books to add to your family library this Mother’s Day:

•Who Will You Be by Andrea Pippins
•What Is Given From the Heart by Patricia C. McKissak
