Fanorona - Wood Board Game For Two Players
Fanorona is a strategy board game originally conceived in Madagascar (circa. 1680). The game is notable in particular for its unusual method of capturing your opponent’s pieces. The capture of whole rows of pieces gives the game a dramatic beginning, with a full board providing many targets for each player to capture. There are vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines that dictate where pieces can move, and players take turns until one person has lost all of their pieces. Because numerous pieces can be captured at once, the beginning of each game can be a bloodbath, and then the gameplay heats up even more when fewer pieces are left. Similar to Chess, many strategies are useful, and sometimes a sacrifice is necessary for long-term success.
With a flawless design and high-quality craftsmanship, Fanorona will delight friends and family for years to come - why not keep it out on the coffee table?
